I was born and raised in a small desert town in Southern California.  I have always had a love for babies and began babysitting when I was only 14.  I had plans to become an elementary school teacher and after finishing my bachelors degree at San Diego State University, I applied and was accepted into their credential program.  A few months before it began, I started babysitting a little guy named Aiden who was 3 years old and Autistic.  I still vividly remember the first time he looked at me and smiled.  I knew that it was right where I wanted to be.  I left my counselors office later that week with a list of new prerequisite classes and information on how to apply for the early childhood special education credential program.  I spent 8 years working for San Diego Unified School District with children ranging in age from birth to 5 years old in a classroom and home setting.  During this time, I also earned a masters degree in early childhood special education with an emphasis in autism from San Diego State University.

I now have two children of my own who are 11 and 9.  About a year ago, we packed up and moved to Colorado.  I love that so many in our new community share the same passion for the outdoors.    I spend most of my time cheering for my kiddos at their soccer games, battle of the book competitions and music concerts.  When I can squeeze in a little me time, I enjoy biking, running and playing volleyball.

I look forward to getting to know your family!
